Fall in the Flathead

Oh Fall...

My favorite season; especially in Montana.
This autumn has been one for the books, for many reasons.
The biggest reason of all, is that I hadn't experienced fall in 4 years.
You know Hawaii may seem like paradise, but when you've lived in Montana your whole life, then you spend 3 years in a tropical place, you're like "I never want to experience Summer again".
That's all Hawaii is; c o n s t a n t summer.
So, yeah, you could say seasons are very important to me.

I'll show you why!

See what I mean?

My ideal Fall is full of sweaters, boots, coffee, crunching through the leaves, long drives to snap beautiful pictures, pumpkin carving, costumes, and big bonfires..
So you could say I've accomplished a lot!
(p.s. I am kind of ready for winter, though)

I hope you're all having an amazing Halloweekend!
Be safe, have fun, and enjoy this weather!
(and eat lots of candy tomorrow)

Life is like, SO neat

Maybe one day I'll get this blogging thing down!
But for now, you'll just have to wait in severe anticipation for my next post. ;)

So where did I leave off?
Last time I was on here, I shared my incredible experience with my hike to Avalanche Lake.
Holy crap, that was like... 3 months ago.

Life has become so interesting since then!
As some of you may know, I work for an incredible company called The Montana Scene. It has been consuming all of my time and energy, and I freaking LOVE it.
Have you heard of it? It's literally the best.
Here are some of my fave products right now...

They're all kind of to die for.
We're in the midst of trying to open our 3rd location in BOZEMAN! So I (along with the owners; Sean and Melissa, and my bff/coworker Lindsay) recently spent some time there, getting things put together and planning out how the store is going to look. I'm so excited! So if you live in the Bozeman area, keep an eye out, because we will be having a Grand Opening party in November.

But other than working at my awesome job, I've just been eating, sleeping, and obsessing over coffee, my dog, and Harry Potter.
We still don't have a house, I'm still not exercising or eating right, and I'm still trying to pass my dumb ramblings off as a blog..  You're welcome.
Everything is really great though, and again, I am soooooo happy to be HOME.

Oh, and here's a picture of Nana.

See you laterrrrr.

Avalanche Lake: The Most Populated Hike Ever

Last weekend we hiked to Avalanche Lake and the view was everything I had always hoped it would be.
I'm not even sure how it's possible for a place to be as beautiful as Montana is. Especially Glacier National Park.
If you want to hike this trail, let me make a few suggestions:
1) Go on a week day
2) Go early in the morning
3) Bring snacks
4) Bring a swimsuit
Just a few things I wish I would have done differently, anyway, here's some awesomeness; enjoy the view -->

Yellow Fields

Just wanted to stop in and say that Montana is unreal.
Everything that has happened since we got home has been like a dream.
I have never felt so fulfilled, and things seem to just be getting better and more exciting.

I snapped these photos on the side of the highway near Woody's gas station. These fields are crazy beautiful (canola I think?).

Anyway, enjoy the view.

Glacier National Park

I've been so frustrated with the quality of Facebook's photos lately, so I thought I'd upload some here just to get the full effect of how gorgeous yesterday was.

We went up to West Glacier with my in-laws and hiked a little ways up some random trail near the pull out for Heaven's Peak. Glacier's plethora of beauty will never cease to amaze me...

Montana Bound, Soon.

Holy most stressful two weeks of my entire life.
We finally have our 'Final Out' tomorrow...
Which means that starting tomorrow afternoon, Paul is done military-ing, and all we have left to do is MOVE.
Our Household Goods will be picked up on the 26th, and we should be able to head home to Montana sometime around the 1st of May.
Holy crap.
I'm just so ready for this all to be over with, and to get home and start our new lives as civilians!
Anyway, that's my update on our separation process. Interesting, I know.
So watch out Kalispell, Paul Ponder and I are coming to town!
And some of the first things we want to do are:
See our friends and family (some of which we haven't seen in 3 years)
Eat at Charlie Wongs
Eat at Los Caporales
Eat at Wheat Montana
Get coffee at Colter Coffee (or any of the other thousands of amazing coffee shops in Kalispell)
Go to Glacier National Park
Take pictures
Go fishing
Go shooting
Go hiking
Go on adventures
Go swimming in a LAKE
Let Nana run around in wide open spaces for the first time in her life

I. am. so. excited.

Life, Am I Right?

So we're counting down the days until we move home...
Well, kind of. See the problem is that we don't have a set date yet, so technically I can't count down the days...
But! We do know we'll  be moving home any time in the next 2 months.
And as ecstatic as I am, I'm also scared shitless.

Of all of the awful things that come with your spouse being in the military, one not-so-awful thing is the security.
No I don't mean secure in the fact that my husband is a highly trained war machine, I mean that we're secure in our life.
Health insurance, a promised paycheck, no chance of lay-offs or terminations, a home... All of those things have been there since we got married.

And now, since Paul's getting out of the military altogether, that stuff will no longer just be there. And that's scary.. Right?
I know we'll be okay, and we have a ton of awesome friends and family that will help us along the way, but it sure feels like we're all of a sudden getting slapped by 'real life'.
As interesting as Hawaii has been, it's been a true test on our relationship. And I feel as though if two people who HATE where they're living, can stay together, we can make it through anything.
Anyway, there's your update. Now you don't have to keep asking me when we're moving home because I DON'T KNOW! (;
Sometime before, or on June 3rd. No later.

Anyway, here's some pictures of birds from my backyard, courtesy of Mr. Paul Ponder himself.
(I like birds, didn't you know?)
